UC Native M1 vs M2 Water Purifiers

M1 is better if you want a simple purifier that works without power. M2 is better if you want modern controls and can handle the power dependency.

    📖 Table of Contents [+]

Urban Company’s Native M1 and M2 purify water the same way, but the rest is different. M1 costs ₹14,499, works during power cuts, and uses a simple tap. M2 costs ₹18,499, needs power, comes with touch controls, and connects to an app for TDS and filter tracking—though readings are sometimes off. Both have a 2-year warranty and a ₹4,500 AMC for next 2 years. Service is good in cities, not so much in smaller towns. Pick M1 for no-fuss use. Pick M2 if you want comfort and can handle the power dependency.

UC Native M1 vs M2 – Cost Comparison

Urban Company Native M1 is available at ₹14,499, while the Native M2 is priced at ₹18,499. This ₹4,000 difference reflects extra features like touch controls and app connectivity in the Native M2 model.

      Design

UC Native M1 uses a traditional tap mechanism offering a manual approach to dispense water.

Native M2 Water Purifier has Touch controls with preset dispensing modes for glasses, bottles, and free flow. This touch control interface enhances the aesthetic appeal and also adds to user convenience.

      Operation During Power Outages

Power cuts are common in many Indian Cities, Towns and Villages. The Native M1 can dispense water even during a power outage since it comes with a Tap. Conversely, Native M2 requires an active power supply for dispensing water. Native M2 Won’t dispense water if there is a power cut because of the touch control mechanism. But you can connect Native M2 to your Home Inverter and use it without any interruption.

Urban Company is also offering a Native UPS as an additional accessory for the M2, providing an alternative power source during outages. However, it costs around 2000 Rupees, which is not great.

      Application Support

Native M2 water purifier is IoT enabled and you can connect this water purifier with Urban Company Smartphone App to monitor real-time TDS levels, track filter health, and view water consumption patterns. Yet, some users have reported differences in the TDS readings displayed on the app and the reading that is taken with a TDS Meter, suggesting inaccuracies. Despite this, the App’s ability to monitor filter life and send timely service alerts adds some convenience to the users.

      Filter Longevity, Service and Maintenance

Both UC Native M1 and M2 are designed with durability in mind. They come with a 2-year unconditional warranty covering all filters, membranes, and electrical parts. After 2 Years, the AMC Cost is ₹4500 for the next 2 years. The AMC is the USP of UC Native Water Purifiers which can lead to notable savings over time, making either model a cost-effective choice in the long run.

      UC Native M2

The Serive availability of Urban Company is limited to Cities and Some Towns. In Most Towns and Villages, Urban Company doesn’t offer installation and they depend on third-party service providers for installation and service. The Service provided by third-party service is not good, there are delays in installation and filter replacements.

      Conclusion

Your choice between the Native M1 and M2 depends on your personal preference and Budget. If uninterrupted access to water during power cuts and a simple interface are your priorities, the M1 might be suitable. But, if you want comfort when filling water bottles, prefer touch controls and appreciate Real time monitoring of TDS and filter, and can manage the dependency on continuous power, the M2 could be worth the additional investment.
