Performance Review
Here, we debunk the hyped 10-stage water purification. The purifier features a Pre-filter, RO membrane, Pre-Carbon filter, Sediment filter, UV light, UF membrane, and 4-in-1 health booster filter. It’s not a notch different from other RO purifiers, think of the 10-stage mention as a marketing punchline.
The 4-in-1 health booster adds small amounts of several beneficial minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium to the water to maintain the TDS levels and give it a mineral water-like taste. However, the touted benefits of copper-infused water warrant a deeper examination, given the copper content just passes through the drinking water post-purification.
The product is suitable for groundwater, borewell water, or any source with TDS up to 2000ppm. We suggest going for an RO if your water has a TDS of more than 400 ppm, otherwise consider a UV UF purifier.
The one-touch dispensing is a cool feature. The blue guide light is a handy addition for nighttime water runs.
Rapid Reverse Rinse Technology and Water Wastage
UC Native water purifiers have a unique technology that cleans the filters every time you dispense the water, this rapid reverse rinse cleaning keeps the filter clean and improves their life but the water wastage is on the higher side because of this. When you compare with HUL Pureit, Livpure and AO Smith, Urban Company water purifiers waste a lot of water.
Customer Service Verdict
Urban Company’s service fares well for prompt installations and approachable customer support, though improvements in the parts supply department would be welcome. Their reliance on third-party service providers in most places can lead to service delays, especially in towns and cities where they don’t have a strong presence.
The Native RO M2 comes with a price tag of ₹16,999, which is a bit steep compared to similar models from the likes of HUL Pureit and Livpure. Yet, considering the advanced features and potential long-term maintenance savings, it could well be worth the investment.
