RPM stands for revolutions/rotations per minute. In a mixer grinder, it denotes the rotational speed of the mixer blades. The faster the rotation, the more the RPM is.

For example, if a mixer grinder has an RPM of 18000, it means that the mixer blades can rotate at speeds of 18000 rotations in one minute.

For a domestic mixer grinder, an RPM in the range of 18000 to 23000 should be sufficient. The faster the blades rotate, the better it can grind your masalas and chutneys. However, faster rotations can affect your juicing jobs. That explains why mixer grinders come with three-speed adjustments. The lowest speed is ideal for blending, juicing, and wet grinding, whereas faster speeds, can better cater to dry grinding jobs.

What is the ideal RPM for a mixer grinder?

A mixer grinder, equipped with a motor capacity of 500 watts, will have an RPM in the range of 18000 to 22000, whereas the 750W motor can display speeds up to 23000 rpm. This range of 18000 to 23000 is ideal for a domestic mixer grinder. This speed can cater to almost all your grinding jobs efficiently.

Mixer grinders with 1000W motors can display RPM exceeding 23000. Generally, such mixers have an RPM of 24000 to 30000. It is because the motor has a bigger field, and the armature has more turns in it.

The ideal mixer grinder for your home should be an appliance with a motor in the range of 500 to 750W. These machines have the most suitable RPM speeds between 18000 and 23000, best for domestic mixing and grinding jobs.
