Using BLDC ceiling fans is a small step towards power conservation. Though BLDC fans cost more than conventional fans, the power savings compensate for the price difference as you recover the deficit within a year.

      • It can function in an extended voltage range.
      • It makes comparatively less noise than its contemporaries. It can be operated by an RF remote.

      Cons

      • Havells offers a 2-year warranty, whereas Crompton has a five-year warranty.

      Havells Glaze BLDC Fan Review

We have used the Havells Glaze BLDC fan and vouch for its performance and power-saving capacity. Though slightly more expensive than conventional ceiling fans, you can recover the cost in one year due to high power savings.

      Speed

      Havells BLDC Fan Glaze

Havells ceiling fans have good rotational speed. This BLDC model, Havells Glaze, offers a rotational speed of 350 rpm, which is good by all standards. Some fans like Crompton Energion HS have a higher speed of 370 rpm at the highest speed setting. Nevertheless, the Havells Glaze performance is good.

This ceiling fan does not need a regulator because it has an RF remote control option with five-speed settings. Accordingly, you can adjust the fanโ€™s speed depending on your requirements.

      Air Delivery

While the fan speed is significant, the air delivery is critical to its performance. The Havells Glaze BLDC fan is among the best in the business, with air delivery of 225 cmm, higher than the Crompton Energion HS. Hence, it ensures optimum air distribution to all the corners of your room.

      Fan Sweep Size

The Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan has an optimum fan sweep size of 1200 mm, which should be ideal for a standard Indian living room. Havells offers a one-foot-long down-rod with the package. That should prove sufficient for modern-day living and bedrooms. However, you can fix a longer down-rod if your ceiling exceeds ten feet.

      Motor

      Havells BLDC Fan motor

The Havells Glaze ceiling fan works on a double-ball-bearing BLDC motor to provide maximum power output. BLDC Eco Active technology ensures 60% less power consumption than conventional ceiling fans.

The powerful BLDC motor ensures the fan performance is at its optimum level, even with voltage fluctuating between 140 and 290V. 100% pure copper wiring makes this ceiling fan a sturdy and reliable performer.

This BLDC fan can work on the home inverter. Our experience shows that the fan speed increases noticeably when working on the inverter.

The Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan does not require a regulator to vary its speed settings. This fan has an RF remote control option that comes with five-speed settings. You can set the sleep timer hourly from one to five hours, after which the fan switches off automatically.

It also has an intelligent memory function enabling the fan to start working at the same setting when switched off. The most exciting feature is that the remote can be operated anywhere in the room without pointing toward the fan. Multi-pairing features are available on this remote control, whereby you can pair it with other BLDC ceiling fans and use it as a universal remote.

Users have complained about the inferior quality of the remote. It seems a universal problem because Crompton Energion HS users have also complained of similar issues.

      Energy Saving

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency has given a 5-star rating to the Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan certifying high-quality energy savings. This fan has a rated efficiency of 30W, making it one of the most efficient BLDC ceiling fans. The Crompton Energion HS has a rated efficiency of 35W.

This table should explain things better.

      Noise Levels

Havells BLDC Fan noise at 3 speed

It is usual for fans to make a sound when rotating at full speed. We have tested the Havells Glaze BLDC at various speed settings and found it emits the maximum sound levels of 70 dB at its highest speed setting. Almost all BLDC fans have similar noise levels. We checked the sound at its 3-speed setting and found it at 60 dB, lower than the Crompton Energion HS model.

      Aesthetics

The Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan is available in three colors, Bianco, Brown, and White. The design is simple without additional features like fancy blades or LED lights. The 1-foot down rod should suffice. But you can fit an extended rod if your ceiling is high.

      Dust-resistant properties

All ceiling fans collect dust on the blades. This fan is not different from the others in this regard. However, you can remove the dust using a vacuum cleaner and clean the blades using a damp cloth/sponge.

Our experience shows that cleaning the fan every month ensures against dust accumulation. It improves the fanโ€™s performance and enhances its lifespan.

      Weight

Compared to the Crompton Energion HS, the Havells Glaze BLDC fan is lighter at 3.75 Kg. However, conventional ceiling fans are lighter than 3.0 Kg, making the Havells Glaze a heavy fan. However, that does not affect its performance.

      Pricing

Pricing-wise, the Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan is attractive and less expensive than the Atomberg and Crompton BLDC fans. Besides, exciting discounts are available on e-commerce retailers like Amazon.

      Warranty

Havells offers a 2-year warranty on the ceiling fan. Though ceiling fans do not break down quickly, the BLDC fans can experience short-circuiting of the PCB, especially if there are heavy voltage fluctuations. This ceiling fan can work in an extended voltage range of 140V to 290V. The Crompton Energion HS is better because it can work at voltages ranging from 90V to 300V. Crompton and Atomberg give higher warranties on their BLDC fans than Havells.

      Conclusion

Every fan has its drawbacks, and so does the Havells Glaze BLDC. That does not mean the fan is not a good one. Our experience shows that Havells Glaze BLDC ceiling fan delivers excellent performance and high-power savings. This investment is worth the money you spend acquiring the Havells Glaze BLDC fan.
